Vegetable tanning began with local tree barks. At Boreal Bioproducts we have revisited that heritage and developed SpruceTannin™, an extract from upcycled Norway spruce bark, a forestry sidestream that performs in modern tannery workflows while improving traceability and circularity.

At Boreal Bioproducts, our daily laboratory operations wouldn’t run smoothly without the help of our talented trainees. From polymer synthesis and barrier coatings to analytical measurements and lignin research, their work supports the backbone of our R&D activities and drives our mission to develop sustainable, bio-based alternatives for fossil-based materials.

Master Tanner Hanna Nore joins Boreal Bioproducts. Her reputation has made her a respected voice in the leather industry. She brings not only technical excellence but also a strong ethical approach to materials and methods. 

The objectives for the co-operation are to exploit CMPC’s woody side-streams with Boreal Bioproducts’ PHWE technology platform.

Recent DSc graduate Alexander Henn joins Boreal Bioproducts® to strengthen the application development as R&D Manager.
